OX2 / 231 is based on the equivalent pressure method and can be used professionally in determining the oxygen delivery rates of films and packaging products including plastic films, composite films, sheets, plastic bottles, plastic bags and bags and other similar packaging materials.
The previously prepared sample is mounted between the upper and lower chambers under ambient atmospheric pressure. One of the chambers contains oxygen and the other is slowly filled with nitrogen by a flow of nitrogen. Because of the difference in concentration between the two chambers, the oxygen molecules migrate through the sample to the nitrogen side and from there go to the kulon meter sensors, where it generates a corresponding amount of electrical signal. The oxygen delivery rate is obtained by analyzing and calculating these signals. In package samples, high purity nitrogen flows into the package and oxygen flows out of the package.
